Judea and Samaria and G-d’s Prophetic Time Clock

G-d has a prophetic time clock שעון הנבואה which moves toward the final end of the Gentile Age.  It culminates with the return of the Messiah המשיח and the judgment of the old adversary the devil or satan.  This enemy has tried to destroy Israel throughout all Israel’s generations, but his judgment is clear.  It is written:

And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.

And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and satan, and bound him for a thousand years,

and cast him into the abyss, the bottomless pit, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time.

The enemy knows that his day of judgment is coming, and he tries

to slow down G-d’s prophetic time clock.

We will examine this time clock to get an understanding and a clearer perspective of world events that are happening now, and also of the events that will happen in the future.

HASHEM has this prophetic time clock שעון הנבואה and the hands of the clock move at various speeds.  During the centuries of the Dispersion of Israel among the gentile nations הגלות the hands of the time clock were moving very slowly. They began to speed up when Israel became a nation in 1948.  They began to move even faster when Israel took possession of Jerusalem in 1967.

There is another factor that has a huge influence on the speed of this time clock.  The factor is hidden in a mystery.

This mystery is revealed by the TORAH

This factor is the biblical area of Judea and Samaria

Judea and Samaria יהודה ושומרון are defined and dominated physically by a high limestone ridge that runs from north to south.  It has a high point in the north at Shechem שכם, and then as the ridge runs south, it has another high point in the middle at Bethel בית אל.  The ridge continues south through Jerusalem ירושלים until it ends with a southern high point at Hebron חברון. On its eastern flank the ridge slopes sometimes rapidly and steeply to the valley of the Jordan River הירדן and the Dead Sea ים המלך.  On its western flank the ridge slopes more gradually to the plain along the Mediterranean Sea.  The territory contained in this area is sometimes referred to in the Tanach תנך as the “hill country” because it is filled with so many beautiful and magnificent hills and valleys.

In recent times this region is sometimes referred to as the “West Bank” because the present day country of Jordan occupied it for a short time after Israel became a nation.  But historically the region was referred to as Judea and Samaria יהודה ושומרון.  Throughout our history, Jews always lived in this territory, and our enemies occupied the flat plain along the Mediterranean Sea הים הגדול.  Now in recent or modern times since Israel became a nation the exact opposite is true.  Israelis live for the most part in the plain and lowlands along the seacoast and our enemies occupy Judea and Samaria.

Since Israel became a nation in 1948, the nations of the world have almost unanimously declared that Judea and Samaria belong to the Arab tribes that occupy it, and that it does not belong to Israel.  This assertion has been a point of great contention and explosive controversy.

HASHEM saw the importance of the role that Judea and Samaria would play in the events of the latter days. So astonishingly in His infinite wisdom, He outlines in the Torah the exact territory of Judea and Samaria יהודה ושומרון, so there would be no doubt to whom it belongs.

HASHEM makes it clear that He has given the possession of the land as an eternal inheritance to Israel:  that is the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  And this promise is to Israel ONLY, and not to any other nation.

The first book of the TORAH unfolds this promise in a beautiful sequence.

The Three Altars and the Appearances of HASHEM

When HASHEM first called Abram אברם out of Ur of the Chaldees, Abram left Haran and traveled south to the land of Canaan.  He entered the land of Canaan in the north.  He traveled in the land of Canaan for a good distance until finally he decided to ascend up to the top of a high limestone ridge and he arrived at Shechem שכם.  It was there that  HASHEM appeared to him

  1. Shechem   שכם

And the Lord said to Abram, “Go forth from your land and from your birthplace and from your father’s house, to the land that I will show you.

And Abram went, as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him, and Abram was seventy five years old when he left Haran.

And Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had acquired, and the souls they had acquired in Haran, and they went to go to the land of Canaan, and they came to the land of Canaan.

And Abram passed through the land, until the place of Shechem, until the plain of Moreh, and the Canaanites were then in the land.

And the Lord appeared to Abram, and He said, “To your seed I will give this land,” and there he built an altar to the Lord, Who had appeared to him.

Abram was now full of the excitement of the promise of the land.  As he picked up his tent and walked to the south, he could tangibly feel the promise, and WITH EVERY STEP THAT HE TOOK,  HE FELL MORE AND MORE IN LOVE WITH HASHEM.  This continued as he journeyed south until he arrived at Bethel בית אל.

 2.    Bethel

Abram moved from there to the mountain, east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent; Bethel was to the west and Ai was to the east, and there he built an altar to the Lord, and he called on the name of the Lord.

{Notation: the revelation: As Abram walked the distance from Shechem to Bethel, every step he took, he felt more and more of his inheritance of the land, and his excitement increased, and he fell more and more in love with HASHEM.}

And Abram traveled, continually traveling southward.

Abram came up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that was his, and Lot with him, to the south.

And Abram had multitudes of cattle, with silver, and an abundance of gold.

He went on his journeys, from the south and until Bethel, until the place where his tent had been previously, between Bethel and between Ai.

This is the place of the altar that Abram had made at first, and he called there on the name of the Lord.

And the Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Please raise your eyes and see, from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward.

For all the land that you see I will give to you and to your seed (that is, through Isaac and Jacob) to eternity.

And I will make your seed like the dust of the earth, so that if a man will be able to count the dust of the earth, so will your seed be counted.

Rise, walk in the land, to its length and to its breadth, for I will give it to you.”

 Genesis 12:8: 13:1-4,14-18

The third place that Abram built an altar to HASHEM was in Hebron חברון, the southern high point of the limestone ridge of Judea and Samaria.

  3.    Hebron חברון

And Abram pitched his tents, and he came, and he dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord.

After these incidents, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Fear not, Abram; I am your Shield and your exceeding Great Reward.”

And He took him outside, and He said, “Please look heavenward and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So will be your seed.”

And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him as righteousness.

And He said to him, “I am the Lord, Who brought you forth from Ur of the Chaldees, to give you this land to inherit it.”

On that day, the Lord formed a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt until the great river, the River Euphrates.”

And Abram was ninety-nine years old, and God appeared to Abram, and He said to him, “I am the Almighty God; walk before Me and be perfect.”

And Abram fell upon his face, and God spoke with him, saying,

“As for Me, behold My covenant is with you, and you shall become the father of a multitude of nations.

And your name shall no longer be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.

And I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings will emerge from you.

And I will establish My covenant between Me and between you and between your seed after you throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your seed after you.

And I will give you and your seed after you the land of your sojournings, the entire land of Canaan for an everlasting possession, and I will be God to them.”

Now the Lord appeared to him in the plains of Mamre, and he was sitting at the entrance of the tent when the day was hot.

And he lifted his eyes and saw, and behold, three men were standing beside him, and he saw and he ran toward them from the entrance of the tent, and he prostrated himself to the ground.

Genesis 14:1; 15:1,5-7,18; 17:1-8; 18:1-2

The TORAH  תורה  underscores the importance of Judea and Samaria יהודה ושומרון in the last days.  As Jews move into and settle in the territory, THE PROPHETIC TIME CLOCK OF HASHEM SPEEDS UP.  That’s right.  As more Israelis take possession of land in Judea and Samaria, the Prophetic Time Clock MOVES FASTER AND FASTER!

Israel’s adversary, the devil, knows this.

He marshals the nations of the earth to oppose, hinder, and try to stop these settlements. He moves the nations of the world to agree to press the nation of Israel to allow the formation of a “palestinian state” in Judea and Samaria.  This would create a separate entity not under the jurisdiction of Israel.  It would stop the formation of any new Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria and is a device to accomplish the intent of the devil.  World events will swirl around this issue.

As the speed of G-d’s prophetic time clock השעון הנבואה של אלוהים increases, the world events that the Messiah Yeshua המשיח ישוע prophesied would occur before His Return will happen on the earth with greater frequency, intensity, and severity. The words of the prophets of Israel, combined with the words of the Messiah המשיח will also be fulfilled.  All the words of the prophets of Israel must be fulfilled.  As the end of the Gentile Age approaches, the world will be like a woman in travail.  As the time for the birth approaches, the pains get more frequent, and intense, and severe.  The distress of the nations will increase exponentially.

It will culminate in the great Day of the LORD

Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! Wherefore would ye have the day of the LORD? It is darkness, and not light.

As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; and went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?

Amos 5:18-20

For the day of the LORD is near upon all the nations; as you have done, it shall be done to you; your dealing shall return upon your own head.

Obadiah 1:15

The great day of the LORD is near, it is near and comes very rapidly, even the voice of the day of the LORD, the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

A day of the shofar sounding the alarm, against the fortified cities, and against the high towers.

This day will usher in the return of the Messiah Yeshua המשיח ישוע to Israel.  He will set his throne in Jerusalem where he will set up the Kingdom of David מלכות דוד.   He will reign from Zion, from Jerusalem, establishing the Kingdom of God מלכות אלוהים over Israel and the rest of the earth.  From Israel He will reign over all the nations of the earth.

HASHEM will send forth the rod of your strength out of Zion

Psalm 110:2

Sing, O daughter of Zion, shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

The LORD has taken away your judgments, He has cast out your enemy; The King of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of you; you shall not fear evil any more.

In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: ‘Fear not; O Zion, let not your hands be slack

The LORD your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One who will save; He will rejoice over you with joy, He will rest in His love, He will joy over you with singing.
