Prophecies in the Tanach תנך

That Were Fulfilled

At the First Coming of the Messiah

Part II:  The Ministry of the Messiah

The Messiah המשיח  is the most important person in Jewish history and in world history.  He is the redeemer הגואל of Israel, and of all mankind, therefore he must be described specifically and in detail by the prophets of Israel.  This is one of the tenets of the thirteen declarations or principles of the Jewish faith The sixth principle, or declaration, states:   “I believe with perfect faith that all of the words of the prophets are truth.”

Messiah המשיח is referenced by the Prophets of Israel, the Torah תורה, and in the Writings  כתובים , that is, in the entire Tanach.

The following is a detailed delineation by some of the prophets of Israel, and also throughout the entire Tanach תנך of the life of the Messiah המשיח in the different stages תקופות  from birth to his maturity.  This includes some of his accomplishments.  His primary objective or mitzvah מצוה from HASHEM was the Redemption of Israel, and through extension, the rest of the human race.  In light of this fact, these Hebrew Scriptures become clothed with magnificent importance and significance.

Bless HASHEM.

Part II:  The Ministry of the Messiah

The ministry of the Messiah המשיח lasted 3 ½ years.  His ministry was announced by a great prophet Yochanan יוחנן (John) by immersing the people of Israel in mikvaot מקוות to prepare them for the appearing of the kingdom of HASHEM מלכות יהוה.  Yochanan יוחנן  was a cohen from the Aaronic order.  His father had been charged with the lighting of the menorah in the Temple בית המקדש in Jerusalem.  Yochanan יוחנן came in the spirit and the power of Elijah the Prophet.  Yochanan יוחנן had been filled with the Spirit of G-d רוח אלוהים when he was yet in his mother’s womb.  This was prophesied by Malachi מלכי the prophet of Israel.

Behold I send My messenger, and he will clear a way before Me. And suddenly, the Lord whom you seek will come to His Temple. And behold! The messenger of the covenant, whom you desire and in whom you delight, is coming, says the Lord of Hosts.

Malachi 3:1

And again it is written:

Lo, I will send you Elijah the prophet

before the coming of the great and awesomely dreadful day of the Lord.

Malachi 3:23

The purpose of this great anointing and power was to prepare all the people of Israel for the advent of the Messiah המשיח and the glory of the kingdom of HASHEM.  This is when “the glory of HASHEM will be revealed” וְנִגְלָה כְּבוֹד יְהֹוָה

A voice calls in the desert (wilderness of Judea), clear the way of the Lord, straighten out in the wilderness-the aravah,

 a highway for our God.”

Every valley shall be raised, and every mountain and hill shall be lowered, and the crooked terrain shall become a plain and the close mountains a smooth plain

And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,

and all flesh together shall see that the mouth of the Lord spoke.

Isaiah 40:3-5

Yochanan יוחנן the prophet was immersing all of Israel in the Jordan River in the plains of Jericho.  This was in the Judean desert, within sight of the Qumran settlement.  Yochanan יחנן  had the spirit and power of the Prophet Elijah אליהו הנביא upon him.  This was the area that the Prophet Elijah אליהו הנביא  had frequented, and it was where there had been also a school of the prophets. This is also the area of the plains of Moab, where Israel had first encamped under the direction of the LORD to Moses.

The children of Israel journeyed and encamped in the plains of Moab, across the Jordan from Jericho.

Numbers 22:1

It was a necessary site for a mikveh מקוה , because this was near where all Israel had passed through the River Jordan and entered the promised land ארץ ישראל.  In the same manner, a mikveh מקוה was necessary for preparation for entrance to the Kingdom of G-d מלכות אלוהים.  This was the same manner as a mikveh מקוה was a necessary preparation for entrance into the  Holy Temple בית המקדש so that the person entering the Holy Temple בית המקדש would not defile it by entering it with his uncleanness upon him.

Yochanan יוחנן the prophet also immersed the people in sites all up and down the Jordan river up until the Sea of Galilee.  All of Israel was expecting the revelation of the Messiah  המשיח.  This was also evident by the journeyings of Israel under the command of Joshua.

They journeyed from the mountains of Abarim and camped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

They camped along the Jordan from Beth-jeshimoth to Abel-shittim, in the plains of Moab.

It was here in the River Jordan, where the waters of Jordan were parted and Israel entered into the land of promise ארץ ישראל, that Yohanan immersed the Messiah of Israel. This was the great mikveh מקוה of all time.  The Messiah הישיח entered into His ministry, and the kingdom of G-dמלכות אלוהים  began.  This was according to the words of the prophet:

Behold My servant, I will support him, My chosen one, whom My soul desires; I have placed My Spirit upon him, he shall promulgate justice to the nations.

HASHEM thundered from heaven, and the Spirit of G-d רוח אלוהים  came down from heaven, like the dove of Noah, and rested upon the Messiah המשיח.  Then the declaration of the ministry of the Messiah המשיח, according to the words of the prophet, came into effect:

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, since the Lord anointed me to bring tidings to the humble, He sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to declare freedom for the captives, and for the prisoners to be free from captivity.

The Spirit of G-d רוח אלוהים was upon the Messiahהמשיח  without measure, in a way that was unprecedented before in the entire history of Israel.  This is why the prophet used the special phrase “the Spirit of the LORD HASHEM  רוּחַ אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה.”  When the Spirit of G-d רוח אלוהים came upon the prophets, priests, and kings of Israel in former years, the anointing was always in a specific measure in order to accomplish a specific purpose of HASHEM.  But now this was the advent of the Messiah המשיח and of the kingdom of G-d מלכות אֱלֹהִים , so the Spirit of HASHEM רוּחַ יְהֹוָה was without measure.  This is according to the words of the prophet in the Psalms:

Your throne, O God, is [will exist] forever and ever; the scepter of equity is the scepter of your kingdom.

You loved righteousness and you hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, anointed you with oil of joy above that of your friends.

Psalm 45:7-8

This prophecy is confirmed and sealed by the words of Isaiah the Prophet:

And a shoot shall spring forth from the trunk of Jesse, and a branch shall sprout from his roots.

And the Spirit of HASHEM רוּחַ יְהֹוָה shall rest upon him, a spirit of wisdom and understanding, a spirit of counsel and heroism (might), a spirit of knowledge and fear of the Lord.

The Messiah המשיח did not begin His ministry in Judea or Jerusalem. But He began it in Galilee, according to the words of the prophet:

For there is no weariness to the one who oppresses her; like the first time, he dealt mildly, the land of ZEBULUN and the land of NAFTALI, and the last one he dealt heavily, the way of the sea, and the other side of the Jordan, the GALILEE of the nations.

The people who walked in darkness, have seen a great light; those who dwell in the land of the shadow of death, light shone upon them.

The first dispersion of Israel by the hands of the Assyrians occurred in the northern part of the land of Israel.  Therefore the Messiah המשיח began His ministry there.

The ministry of the Messiah המשיח was characterized by works never seen before in the land of Israel.  He opened the eyes of the blind and he delivered Israelis who were bound by the devil in the devil’s prison house.  This is according to the words of the Prophet:

I am the Lord; I called you with righteousness and I will strengthen your hand; and I formed you, and I made you for a people’s covenant, for a light to nations.

To open blind eyes,

to bring prisoners out of a dungeon,

those who sit in darkness out of a prison.

Isaiah 42: 6-7

To deliver the prisoners, the Messiah  המשיח cast our demons, the emissaries of the devil that held them in bondage.  This was a special power that HASHEM gave only to the Messiah המשיח and not to any of the prophets of Israel who were before Him. He was the promised king who would sit upon the throne of David.  This is to fulfill the words of the Scripture:

Who performs justice for the oppressed,

 Who gives bread to the hungry;

the Lord sets loose the bound.

Psalm 146:7

It also echoes the words of the prophet:

Your throne, O G-d, IS [will exist] forever and ever;

the scepter of equity is the scepter of your kingdom

Psalm 45:7

Certain rulers of the people came to challenge the Messiah Yeshua  המשיח ישועwhen he was casting out demons, saying that the power was not from HASHEM, but from the enemy.

Yeshua ישוע corrected them by saying:

“A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.  If the enemy casts out his demons, then his kingdom is divided against itself and it will collapse.

But if I cast out demons by the finger of G-d (the Holy Spirit of HASHEM), THEN KNOW THAT THE KINGDOM OF G-D IS COME UPON YOU !”

He was quoting from the words of the prophet:

When I see Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,

the moon and stars that You have established,

The Messiah Yeshua  המשיח ישועwas demonstrating the power in only ONE of the fingers of HASHEM.

Then the prophet goes on to say:

What is man that You should remember him, and the son of man that You should be mindful of him?

Yet You have made him slightly less than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and majesty.

You give him dominion over the work of Your hands; You have placed everything beneath his feet.

Psalm 8:4-7

This is speaking about the Messiah המשיח and the Messiah’s dominion.  Therefore the casting out of devils is a declaration of the dominion of the Messiah the son of David.

Moreover Yeshua declared and demonstrated that he had the authority to give this power to his disciples (talmudim תלמודים).  He gave his twelve talmudim תלמודים  authority over unclean spirits to cast them out.  He also gave this authority to the seventy whom he sent before him to all the synagogues to declare the kingdom of G-d to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

This is according to the words of the prophet:

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings You have established strength

because of Your adversaries, in order to put an end to the enemy and the avenger.

Psalm 8:3

The Messiah המשיח chose seventy because this authority would rest in the seventy elders of Israel, but would eventually extend to all the seventy nations

on the face of the earth.

The Messiah Yeshua המשיח ישוע cast the demons out of the deaf and the dumb, so that they could both hear and speak.  He also straightened up the backs of those who were bowed over, by casting out the demons that crippled them, so that they could walk upright. The demons could not block them anymore. When the Messiah Yeshua  המשיח ישוע straightened up the back of the woman who was severely bent over on the Sabbath day in the synagogue, he said: “Should not this woman who has been bound by satan for fifteen years be loosed from him in the Sabbath day?  For she also is a daughter of Abraham.”

The prophets of Israel had said that these powerful works were part of the attributes of HASHEM, and would designate the Messiah המשיח and the advent of the Kingdom of G-d מלכות אלוהים.

HASHEM supports all those who fall and straightens all who are bent down.

And again it is prophesied:

 HASHEM straightens the bent over

The Messiah Yeshua  המשיח ישוע also opened the eyes of those who were blind, and healed the lame so that they leaped up and down, and then they walked, and then they ran.  These powers were foretold by the prophets of Israel to be the special possession of the Messiah when he appeared to announce the Kingdom of David as promised to Israel by HASHEM.

HASHEM gives sight to the blind

Say to the hasty of heart, “Be strong, do not fear; behold our God, [with] vengeance He shall come, the recompense of God, that shall come and save you.

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

Then the lame shall skip like a hart, and the tongue of the mute shall sing, for water has broken out in the desert and streams in the plain, the aravah.

Isaiah 35:4-6

There was actually no sickness, disease, or infirmity; no demon possession, insanity, or lunacy that the Messiah המשיח did not heal among the multitudes of the children of Israel that came to him. The people thronged him because virtue came out of him and healed all those who touched him.  He healed them all.  This is because their deliverance at the advent of the Kingdom of David was parallel in similitude to the deliverance of Israel on the night of Passover when we ate the roasted flesh of the lamb.  All of the people were healed.  This is testified by the prophets.

And He took them out with silver and gold,

and there was no feeble person among their tribes.

One type of healing that the Messiah Yeshua  המשיח ישוע did specifically with fanfare was the healing of the disease of leprosy.  This is because the power to heal this disease was one of the signet signs of the Messiah המשיח.  It was one of the signs that HASHEM had given to Moses to prove to Israel that HASHEM had sent him to deliver them from Pharaoh and from Egyptian bondage.

“In order that they believe that the Lord, the God of their forefathers, has appeared to you, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”

And the Lord said further to him, “Now put your hand into your bosom,” and he put his hand into his bosom, and he took it out, and behold, his hand was leprous like snow.

And He said, “Put your hand back into your bosom,” and he put his hand back into his bosom, and [when] he took it out of his bosom, it had become again like [the rest of] his flesh.

“And it will come to pass, that if they do not believe you, and they do not heed the voice of the first sign, they will believe the voice of the last sign.”

Exodus 4:5-8

The same sign was to be used by HASHEM to prove to Israel that the Messiah המשיח had been sent by Him to deliver them from satan and from demonic bondage and oppression.  This was to announce the Kingdom of G-d and the Kingdom of David.  For Moses prophesied:

I will set up a prophet for them from among their brothers like you, and I will put My words into his mouth, and he will speak to them all that I command him.

And it will be, that whoever does not hearken to My words that he speaks in My name, I will exact [it] of him.

When the Messiah Yeshua המשיח ישוע healed a leper from the dreaded disease, he not only cleansed him from the leprosy, but he restored the body parts that had been eaten away, so that they grew back new on the person.  So the leper was made completely whole, and was restored to a state of health and wholeness that was even better than before he had contracted the disease.

In one example of the many healings of leprosy that the Messiah Yeshua המשיח ושיע performed,

a leper met him as Yeshua ישוע was coming down from the mountain where he had been teaching the people.  The leper said to the Messiah Yeshua המשיח ושיע “You son of David, I know that if you will, you can make me clean.”  the Messiah Yeshua המשיח ושיע was filled with compassion, and putting forth his finger, he touched the leprosy and said “I will.”  Immediately the leprosy departed from the man, and he was made completely whole, all of his body parts growing back, and his body was new like that of a little child.

The Messiah המשיח was afflicted with the burdens of His people Israel.  This is written by the prophets:

But He looked upon their distress when He heard their cries.

And He remembered His covenant for them, and He relented in accordance with His abundant kindness.

In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them

Isaiah 63:9

Indeed, he bore our illnesses, and our pains-he carried them, yet we accounted him as plagued, smitten by God and oppressed

Isaiah 53:4

As a result the Messiah המשיח was able to undo all the works of the devil, and deliver all the people of Israel who came to him.

Another prophetic aspect of the ministry of the Messiah המשיח was his power over the natural elements, particularly the wind and the waves. As it is written in the prophets of Israel:

You rule over the pride of the sea; when it raises its waves, You humble them.

Psalm 89:10

They cried out to the Lord from their distress, that He took them out of their straits.

He made the tempest of winds into a tranquil calm, and the giant boisterous waves were stilled.

They rejoiced that the waves of the sea were stilled, and He led them to the port of their desire.

They shall thank the Lord for His kindness, and for His wonders to the children of men.

This occurred when there arose a furious storm on the sea of Galilee, and the boat with the disciples and the Messiah Yeshua המשיח ישוע in it began to sink under the fierce winds and the massive waves.  The Messiah Yeshua המשיח ישוע was asleep in the hold of the boat.  The students תלמודים awakened him, crying out “Rabbi, don’t you care that we perish?”  He arose from his sleep, and stood in the boat.  He rebuked the winds and the waves, and commanded them to cease their fury, and be still.  Immediately the winds ceased blowing and there became a great calm upon the sea.  The disciples תלמודים were astonished at the power of the Messiah המשיח.  He rebuked them for their little faith. And then immediately their boat was translated to its port on the other side of the sea.

The Messiah המשיח also taught the people using parables. This was also prophesied by the prophets of Israel.

My mouth shall speak wisdoms and in the thoughts of my heart are understandings.

I will bend my ear to a parable; with a lyre, I will open up my riddle.

Psalm 49:4-5

I shall open my mouth with a parable;

I shall express riddles founded in ancient days.

Psalm 78:2

The Messiahהמשיח  taught Israel in parables about the mysteries of the  Kingdom of HASHEM,  the Kingdom of David, and the end of the gentile age.   He delineated the course of events, and the great occurrences in the details that were in these events with the wisdom of HASHEM in the context of  parables.  This is the same manner that Solomon שלומן the wise king had done before him.  This was so that those who were serious minded and would seek them out could get understanding.  They could learn the fear and the judgments of HASHEM.

At the time designated by HASHEM through the Prophets of Israel, the Messiahהמשיח  entered the second temple in Jerusalem. The time that was appointed by HASHEM was the time of the celebration of the feast of Passover פסח when all Israel was gathered together in Jerusalem.  This was the time of the sacrifice of the Passover lamb.

The second temple had .greater glory than the glory of the first temple.

And I will shake up all the nations, and the desire of all nations will come. And I will fill this House with glory, said the Lord of Hosts.

The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of Hosts.

The glory of this last House shall be greater than the first one, said the Lord of Hosts. And in this place I will grant peace, says the Lord of Hosts.

Haggai 2:7-9

The Messiahהמשיח  humbles himself.  Yet he enters the Temple in Jerusalem as a king.  He rides upon a donkey the way that Solomon שלומו did when he was inaugurated as king over all of Israel.

Who is like the Lord, our God, Who dwells on high,

Who humbles himself to look in the heavens and the earth?

Be exceedingly happy, O daughter of Zion; Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem. Behold! Your king shall come to you. He is just and victorious; humble, and riding a donkey and a foal, the offspring of [one of] she-donkeys.

Zechariah 9:9

His entrance was greeted by the exuberant shouts of the people.

The name of the Messiah המשיח is salvation ישוע.

Behold, the Lord announced to the end of the earth, “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold your salvation has come.’ ” Behold His reward is with Him, and His wage is before Him.

The Messiah  המשיח is blessed by the people of Israel.

Blessed be he who comes in the name of the Lord;

we have blessed you in the name of the Lord.

The purpose of the Messiah המשיח is to redeem Israel from her iniquities.

O God, if You keep [a record of] iniquities, O Lord, who will stand?

Psalm 130:3

Israel, hope in the Lord, for kindness is with the Lord and much redemption is with Him.

And He will redeem Israel from all their iniquities.

Psalm 130:7-8

The Messiah המשיח makes a whip and casts the moneychangers who sold doves and other sacrifices out of the temple.  The zeal of HASHEM consumes him.  He quotes the Scripture: “It is written: ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’, but you have made it a den of thieves.”  He cleanses the Temple.

For the zeal of Your house has consumed me,

and the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen upon me.

Psalm 69:10

The Messiah המשיח teaches and heals the sick in the Temple. The Messiah Yeshua המשיח ישוע taught the people of Israel עם ישראל about the mercy (hesed) חסד and the faith (emunah) אמונה of the Kingdom of David מלכות דוד  which is the Kingdom of HASHEM מלכות הי  . At this point HASHEM revealed His Messiah Yeshua משיחו ישוע in the Holy Temple בית המקדש.  It is written in the Prophets of Israel:

The Lord has made known His salvation

And furthermore:

He remembered His kindness and His faith to the house of Israel

Psalm 98:2,3

At this point the Messiah המשיח was preparing to destroy the power of sin and death over Israel.  And this feat, once it was accomplished, would be extended from Jerusalem to the seventy gentile nations. Sin and death had reigned over the human race from the time of Adam.  Now the Messiah המשיח was getting ready to destroy its sovereignty.  The blessing and deliverance would begin with his people Israel עמו ישראל because HASHEM had said that in Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob all the nations of the earth would be blessed.  The Prophets of Israel prophesied this work of the Messiah המשיח.

You have done great things, You, O Lord my God. Your wonders and Your thoughts are for us. There is none to equal You; if I were to tell and speak, they would be too many to tell.

You desired neither sacrifice nor meal offering; You opened my ears; a burnt offering or a sin offering You did not request

Then I said, “Behold I have come,” in the scroll of a book it is written of me.

To do your will, which I delight in, O my G-d, for your Torah is inside me, in my deepest being.

I brought tidings of righteousness in a great assembly. Behold, I will not withhold my lips, O Lord, You know.

I did not conceal Your righteousness within my heart;

I stated Your faith and Your salvation

I did not withhold Your kindness-mercy (chesed) and truth-to a great assembly.

Psalm 40:6-11

The Messiah המשיח was preparing to replace the reign of sin over his people Israel עמו ישראל with the reign of mercy (chesed) חסד.  This would destroy the iron fisted rule of death, and bring about the rule of eternal life חיי עולם.  This is written in the Prophets of Israel.

For I desire loving-kindness-mercy (chesed),

and not sacrifices, and knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Hosea 6:6

This had to be accomplished by the Messiah himself המשיח עצמו because it is written by the prophet:

Incline your ear and come to Me, hearken and your soul shall live, and I will make for you an everlasting covenant, the dependable (of faith) mercies of David.

Isaiah 55:3

The “sure mercies of David”

describes the attribute of the sovereign rulership of mercy חסד in the Kingdom of David in Israel.

To accomplish this the Messiah המשיח had to sacrifice himself.  He had to do this on Mount Moriah according to the prophets.  This was the mountain where the Holy Temple stood, and where HASHEM had commanded Abraham to sacrifice Isaac.  The Messiah was the ram that had to be sacrificed in the place of Isaac in order to remove the sovereign rule of sin.

It is written in the Prophets of Israel:

Sing to the Lord a new song, for He performed wonders;

His right hand and His holy arm have saved Him.

Psalm 98:1

And He saw that there was no man, and He was astounded for there was no intercessor, and His arm saved for Him, and His righteousness, that supported Him.

Help us, O God of our salvation, on account of the glory of Your name, and save us and atone for our sins for Your name’s sake.

Psalm 79:9

Israel, hope in the Lord, for kindness (mercy-chesed)  is with the Lord

and much redemption is with Him.

And He will redeem Israel from all her iniquities.

Psalm 130:7-8

The Prophet Daniel says the Messiah must be cut off for this purpose.

And after the sixty-two weeks, the Messiah משיח anointed one will be cut off, and he will be no more

Seventy weeks [of years] have been decreed upon your people and upon the city of your Sanctuary to terminate the transgression and to end sin, and to expiate iniquity, and to bring eternal righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies.

Indeed ממש once the Messiah המשיח completes this gargantuan task, the following words of the Prophet of Israel come into effect:

Come now, let us debate, says the Lord. If your sins prove to be like crimson, they will become white as snow; if they prove to be as red as crimson dye, they shall become as wool.

Isaiah 1:18

Once the dominion of sin is removed, then the Messiah המשיח destroys the dominion of death  מות and removes its power, putting in its place the power of eternal life חיי עולם.  This is prophesied by the Prophets of Israel.

And He shall destroy on this mountain the face of the covering that covers all the peoples and the kingdom that rules over all the nations.

He has swallowed up death forever in victory,

and the Lord God shall wipe the tears off every face, and the shame of His people He shall remove from upon the entire earth, for the Lord has spoken.

And they shall say on that day, “Behold, this is our God: we hoped for Him that He would save us; this is the Lord for Whom we hoped; let us rejoice and be happy with His Yeshua.

Isaiah 25:7-9

This work of the Messiah המשיח  is the chief cornerstone of the Kingdom of David over Israel.

Therefore, so has the Lord God said: “Behold, I have laid as a foundation a stone in Zion, a fortress stone, a tried stone, a costly cornerstone, a foundation well founded; the believer shall not rush in haste.

However, in order for the Messiah המשיח to become a sacrifice and be cut off in order to establish the rule of mercy and faith in the Kingdom of David, he must be rejected by the builders.

This is foretold by the Prophets of Israel.

The stone that the builders rejected became a cornerstone.

This was from the Lord; it is wondrous in our eyes.

The details of this rejection are delineated by the Prophets of Israel. Some of these details are laid out in the following prophesies.

The adversaries of the Messiah המשיח seek to entrap him in his words.

All day long, they wrest my words; all their thoughts about me are for evil.

They gather themselves together; they hide; they watch my steps, as they wait to catch my soul.

Psalm 56:6-7

There is no place for the Messiah המשיח   to lay his head.

You counted my wanderings; place my tears in Your bottle. Is it not in Your accounting?

Psalm 56: 9

The Messiah המשיח is envied by the religious leaders.  These are the Sadduces הצדוקים  and the Phariseesהפרושים . They are the builders.  They have been offended by stinging rebukes of the Messiah המשיח.  The Sadduces הצדוקים  and the Pharisees הפרושים feel that their base of power over the people is threatened by him.  They .have become his enemies.  They seek to cast him down. This is prophesied by the Prophets of Israel:

How long will you plan destruction to a man? You shall be murdered, all of you, as a leaning wall, a tottering fence.

Only because of his loftiness have they plotted to topple him;

they delight in lies; they bless the sayings of his mouth, but inwardly they curse.

Psalm 62:4-5

The counsel of the Sanhedrin is against the Messiah

You shall hide me from the counsel of evildoers, from the gathering of workers of iniquity,

Who whetted their tongue like the sword; who aimed a bitter word like their arrow,

To shoot at the innocent in secret places; they shoot at him suddenly and do not fear.

They strengthen the evil word for themselves; they tell to hide snares. They say, “Who will see us?”

They seek pretexts; they have completed a diligent search, hidden within man and in the depths of the heart.

Psalm 64:3-7

The Messiah המשיח is the weeping servant.

I have become weary from crying; my throat has become parched; my eyes fail (for weeping) while I wait for my God.

Psalm 69:3

The counsel of the Sanhedrin is to to take the Messiah Yeshua

For my enemies said of me, and those who watch for my soul took counsel together,

Saying, “God has forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is no rescuer.”

Psalm 71:10-11
